October is one of my favorite months. I love the Fall season and especially love Halloween. The first five weeks of school has flown by. The kids are into a nice routine and working hard in therapy. We are beginning to fill up our I Can bulletin board with statements of things the kids can do as a result of working hard in speech-language class. Remember to provide good speech and language models at home.
In Mr., Shingelton's class our classroom lessons for September focused on Back to School and Apples. For the Months of October and November we will focus on Harverst, Pumpkins, and Fall Holidays through adapted books, simple cooking activities, games, and iPad activities.
Some of the language targets we will address are:
Answering Questions
Receptive and Expressive Vocabulary
Describing
Categories
Requesting
Following Directions
Turn-Taking
Greetings
Manners
The end of October brings the end of the 1st quarter. Progress reports will be distributed with student report cards.
Happy Fall
Mrs. Hodgson

WELCOME BACK!!!
The first day of school has finally arrived! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer vacation. Hopefully your children had a wonderful first day of school and have lots of things to share with you today. I spent today and will spend the next two days screening our new kindergarten students. We are still working out the schedules for direct services which will begin September 4th. Please call or email with any questions or concerns. I will be at Highland Drive M-F from 8:30-4:30.
