The first quarter ended on Thursday, October 20th.  It's hard to believe 9 weeks have passed already.  Report cards will be distributed this week for grades 1-3.  Look for Speech/Language Progress Notes in the Report card envelope.   If you have any questions regarding your child's progress, feel free to contact me.  I'd be more than happy to set up a meeting or discuss any concerns over the phone.  Go Tribe!!

Welcome Back!

The kids have been back exactly one week...except for our kinders who officially started Monday.  I've already started seeing my students this week and have been pleasantly surprised at how many have maintained their speech and language skills over the summer. We spent some of our time completing the Back to the Speech Room packet and reviewing each student's goals.  It is important for the kids to know why they come to speech---and it's not just to play games:)   I  had the opportunity to screen our new kindergartners during phase-in and throughout this week as well--so many smiling faces!  By now you should have received information about when your child is scheduled (grades 1-3).  Kindergarten letters will be coming home at the beginning of next week as we add new kids and arrange the schedule.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child, feel free to contact me.

One Semester Down!

Thursday, January 14th ended the second quarter and first semester of the school year. The kids seem to be back into the school routine after the winter break and long weekend.  This semester I will have another student teacher from Cleveland State University. Her name is Ms. Gouker and she is very excited to be here.  Today was her first day.  She will spend a couple weeks observing the students in therapy and then will begin taking over with my guidance.  Please look for speech and language progress notes in the report card envelopes coming home at the end of the week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
