The kids have been back exactly one week...except for our kinders who officially started Monday. I've already started seeing my students this week and have been pleasantly surprised at how many have maintained their speech and language skills over the summer. We spent some of our time completing the Back to the Speech Room packet and reviewing each student's goals. It is important for the kids to know why they come to speech---and it's not just to play games:) I had the opportunity to screen our new kindergartners during phase-in and throughout this week as well--so many smiling faces! By now you should have received information about when your child is scheduled (grades 1-3). Kindergarten letters will be coming home at the beginning of next week as we add new kids and arrange the schedule.
